Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

This Privacy Policy explains how Better Money Options handles the information you give us when you use this website or submit a request. We keep it plain because a privacy policy should be readable.

A quick note on who we are: Better Money Options is a lender-matching service, not a lender or a broker. We do not make loans or credit decisions, and we may be compensated by lenders or lending partners when you are matched or funded. Sharing your information through our request form is how that matching works. See our Disclaimer for the full not-a-lender, no-guarantee, and compensation disclosures.

What We Collect

We collect the information you choose to give us, plus a small amount that is gathered automatically.

From the request form, we collect the loan amount you select and, in the steps that follow, details such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and stated monthly income. We collect this so we can try to match you with lenders in our network.

From the contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message, so we can answer you.

Automatically, our servers may log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, which helps us keep the site secure and working well.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

How We Share Your Information

This is the part that matters most, so we will be direct. When you submit a request, we share the information you provide with one or more lenders or lending partners in our network for the purpose of matching you. That is the whole point of the service, and by submitting a request you authorize that sharing.

We may also share information with service providers who help us run the site (for example, hosting and email delivery) under agreements that limit how they can use it, and when the law requires it or to protect against fraud.

How Lenders Use Your Information

Once a lender receives your request, that lender handles your information under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Lenders may verify your information and perform credit checks through Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion, or through alternative providers such as Clarity. See the credit authorization disclosure. If you move forward with a lender, review its privacy practices directly. Better Money Options is not responsible for how a third-party lender uses the information you share with it.

Consent to Be Contacted (TCPA)

By submitting your request, you agree to be contacted by Better Money Options and its lending partners by phone, text message, and email, including through automated or prerecorded technology, at the number and address you provide, even if it is on a do-not-call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can opt out at any time by following the instructions in any message you receive.

This consent is given to Better Money Options and to the lenders and lending partners we connect you with. It applies to calls and text messages made using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. Your consent is not required as a condition of buying any goods or services, and you may revoke it at any time by replying STOP to a text, asking to be removed during a call, or contacting us through our contact form.

By using this website and submitting a request, you consent under the federal E-SIGN Act to receive all communications, agreements, disclosures, notices, and other information from Better Money Options and the lenders and lending partners we connect you with in electronic form, including by email, by text message, and by posting on this website, instead of on paper. This consent covers this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service, the consent and TCPA disclosures, and any documents related to your request. To access and keep electronic communications you need a device with internet access, a current web browser, and a valid email address, and you are responsible for keeping your contact details current. Standard message and data rates may apply to text messages, and you can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. You may withdraw this consent or request a free paper copy of any disclosure at any time through our contact form, though doing so may mean we can no longer provide the matching service.

Opting Out

You are in control of your contact preferences. You can opt out at any time:

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold, and to direct us not to "sell" or "share" it. How to do that is explained under Do Not Sell My Personal Information in our Terms of Service.

Cookies

The site may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep the request form working across steps, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect the information you share with us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

This service is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
