One short request. Real options.
We built Better Money Options for the week the car dies, the tooth cracks, or the rent lands before the paycheck does. Here is who we are and exactly how this works.
Borrowing online usually means filling in the same form on six different sites and then fielding calls from all of them. We think that is backwards. You should be able to tell us once how much you need, and let the lenders in our network decide whether they can help.
That is the whole service. You pick an amount between $500 and $25,000, answer a few short questions, and we pass your request to lenders and lending partners who work with people in your situation. If one of them makes you an offer, you see the full terms before you accept anything. If none of them do, you owe us nothing and you can walk away.
We are not a bank and we are not a lender. We do not decide who gets approved and we do not set a single rate. Being honest about that is the reason people come back.
What We Are, and What We Are Not
Better Money Options is not a lender or a broker and does not make credit decisions or fund loans. We connect your request with lenders and lending partners in our network.
Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, or a specific rate, term, or amount. Approval, APR, fees, and funding are determined solely by the lender.
If a website promises "guaranteed approval" before it has looked at your information, treat that as a warning sign. Approval always belongs to the lender. What we can promise is a short form, a clear explanation of the costs, and no pressure to take an offer you do not like.
How the Request Works
Tell us how much you need
Pick an amount from $500 to $25,000 on the homepage and answer a few questions. It takes about two minutes.
We pass it to the network
Your request goes to lenders and lending partners who work with all kinds of credit histories. Not every lender operates in every state.
You review and decide
If a lender makes an offer, it shows you the APR, fees, and schedule first. Accept it, or close the tab. Funding times depend on the lender and your bank.
Lenders may check your credit through Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, or an alternative provider such as Clarity, and late payments can be reported. The credit authorization disclosure covers this in full.
How We Are Paid
Better Money Options may receive compensation from lenders or lending partners when a request is matched or funded. This compensation may affect which lenders appear in our network and how requests are routed. Some users may be matched with tribal lenders, whose rates and rules can differ from state-licensed lenders. We say this plainly because you have a right to know who pays for the service you are using. The full advertising and referral disclosure spells it out.
What It Costs
Using Better Money Options is free. The loan itself is not. APRs from lenders in our network commonly fall between approximately 5.99% and 35.99%, with repayment periods from 91 days to as long as 72 months. A $3,500 loan over 36 months at about 13.25% APR works out to roughly $118 a month and $4,248 in total. Those are examples, not offers. The APR disclosure has more.
Who Can Use It
To use this service you must be a U.S. resident and at least 18 years old, and you must meet the requirements of the lenders in our network. Service availability and loan products vary by state. A regular source of income and an active bank account are what most lenders want to see. A low credit score does not put you out of the running, but it may affect the offers you get.
